Commission and swap: the money you do not see

Every trade has three parts: the price result, the commission your broker charges, and swap if you held it overnight. Onyx stores all three separately and always shows you the net.

The cost of not looking
0.50 lots on EURUSD with $7 round-trip commission. You exit "at zero" on price → your real result is −$7. Over twenty trades that is $140 gone without you seeing it.

Swap builds up quietly

On positions you hold for weeks, swap can eat a good chunk of the profit. On some pairs it is positive and pays you, but on most combinations retail traders take, it subtracts.

In the Costs section of the dashboard you can see what commissions and swap took from you over any period. It is a number that usually surprises people the first time.

That is why Onyx Guardian's break even can cover these costs automatically: it reads what your broker charged on that specific trade and moves the stop far enough that exiting really means exiting at zero.
